Just went and saw Phone Booth yesterday. It was one of the better movies I've seen lately. Awesome story and everything. Shumacher was on his game here...I'm tempted to almost forgive him for Batman & Robin. Almost.

it seems to have the exact same plot as Liberty Stand Still with Wesley Snipes.

OK, I went to see "Phone Booth" and I must say, this movie SUCKED DONKEY BALLS!
I must say though, Colin Farrell's impression of Vince Russo was very good.
The story had too many plot holes, and frankly, the only reason I finished watching was because I did, indeed want to know how it ended. Damn, was I disappointed.
In order to fully explain why I hated it, I'd probably ruin it for everyone else. But I didn't like it.
On a scale of 1-10, I'd say it's about a 4, which isn't completely shitty, but it certainly ain't good.
I want my $9 back. Especially since it was only an 80 minute movie.

us.imdb.com/Title?0280870Hope that helps, from what i remember, it seems like the exact same plot as Phone Booth. In Liberty Stand Still a woman is held hostage by a sniper at a pay phone for pretty much the entire movie.

The best acting in Phone Booth was Sutherland, and he was just a voice. Its one of the better new films I've seen this year, but it hasn't exactly been the greatest year so far.

Finally saw this movie, and I can sum up my feelings like this:
The movie is approximately 80 minutes long. The first 75 minutes were great. The last 5 minutes fuckin' sucked.
There are some spoilers below, so highlight to read.
I thought they did a good job of building tension such as >>> "Will he or won't he insult the cop's ability in bed?" <<<, and there were some nice little twists (such as >>> hiding the gun in the top panel of the booth <<< ), and, for that, I'll say that the good outweighs the bad, and that it's atleast worth watching.
However, the biggest problem with the film is >>> that the killer, who is presumably a complete stranger, somehow knows EVERYTHING about the main character. I mean, they NEVER mention who the hell he is (he's just listed as "caller" in the credits), and, yet, he knows every intimate detail? That's just lazy writing; really, REALLY lazy writing. Something tells me that whoever wrote this script couldn't figure out how to handle that little detail, so he just said "Ahh, fuck it, if I leave it open, people will think I'm a genius; I mean, hey, if people think MULHOLLAND DRIVE is a great movie, then they'll surely think that I'M a genius for purposely writing something that's completely non-sensical." <<<
