I just finished watching Raiders of the Lost Ark. I doubt I need to make any comment on that.

As far as American Beauty is concerned, it has some things I like, but I agree with William Goldman's take on it. What's his take on it? My only problem with the movie is the large amount of coincidences (such as the scene with the Colonel sees Ricky and Lester in the garage). I absolutely HATE coincidences in movies (usually because there are ways around having the coincidences, but the writers are too lazy to think of one), but, since it's basically integral to the movie (each coincidence breeds more coincidences), it doesn't bother me. Anyway, just curious as to Goldman's take.

The last film I watched was Groundhog Day. I must have seen it 20 times and I've enjoyed it more with every viewing.
I wont go into detail so as not to ruin the ending of the film for anyone who hasn't seen it, but Goldman loved most of American Beauty but felt it had third act problems, specifically the ending, parts of which he felt were outwith the logic of the rest of the film.

I just saw 'Dr. T & the Women'. It was bizzare, and watchable for the middle of the night, but it is not one of Robert Altman's best.

Pretty much, I carry my DVD player with me most places, and I'm not out much at the moment for various reasons. Plus I only sleep around 3 hours a day, I need something to take up my time.
Today I watched Marlowe, which was an ok distraction, but while I'm a fan of noirs, I don't like late 60s early 70s detective films too much. The style doesn't suit too well, and the music is always off putting.
Then I watched part of the Forsyte Saga, which is a period drama which is either a mini series or a series of tv movies, its quite hard to tell actually. The episodes are film length.

Not a movie persay but I did watch Animatrix last night. It was awesome except for "World Record" and "Matriculated". "Second Renaissance I & II" were the best. Mankind deserved to be overtaken by the machines for all the wrongs they caused them and for doing a worst job at peace then the Middle East. Of course no intellegent race deserves what happened to the humans. But you can't really blame the machines since their very existence was threatened by the humans. But the humans will end up winning after the next movie and probably treat the machines like shit again. You know not learning from past problems which caused mankind it's problems in the first place.

Today I watched 'Animal Farm' now I'm watching 'Brainstorm'.

I watched "For Richer Or Poorer" in Economics. It was pretty bad, but it was a Tim Allen movie so I didn't really have much high hopes.

I just watched one of my favourite films, "12 Angry Men". This film defines the word classic.
