I suppose this is a bit like the 'Now Playing' thread only with movies. Post the last film you watched, or any film you happen to be watching at the time of posting, and perhaps comment briefly on it if you feel like it.
The last film I watched was "The Specials" which was a superhero satire starring Thomas Haden Church and Rob Lowe. I found it to be enjoyable, but I'm glad I didn't actually pay money to see it.

Hoodlum. This movie had Laurence Fishburne and Tim Roth as mobsters competing over lottery game slips in the Depression era. I thought the movie was okay as a mobster movie.

I just saw "The Godfather" for the first time unedited on dvd. I've seen parts of it, but never actually saw the entire thing until Sunday, it's a great movie and has really good conflicts amongst characters.

I have just seen Goodfellas for the first time after a LOT of people told me that I had to see it....and I have to admit they were right. I now want to see the Godfather films as I have heard they are even better.

I just got through watching "Frailty" around a minute ago and it blew me away. I expected to enjoy it, but not that much. I haven't been that impressed with a film in a good while. Perfect ending too.
To the person who has never seen the Godfather, I envy you. I wish I could go back and watch the first two for the first time all over again. Especially Part II.

Just watched "Gacy" (based roughly on John Wayne Gacy) a few hours ago.
Pretty disappointing; the cover-art depicts Gacy in his clown make-up, and the back makes it a point to talk about how he was a model-citizen that volunteered at childrens' hospitals. The movie, however, never ONCE shows him doing this (save for a brief film-clip he watches of himself), and, instead of portraying him as a nice guy at the beginning, shows him as a scumbag from the beginning. Kinda "takes away" from what should have been a shocking, resonating realization, ya know?
... wow, these film-classes have really gone to my head.

'Scary Movie' was on, but I turned it over when I realised what it was. I've seen it before and found it to be absolute tripe.

The credits are now rolling on 'Paradise Found' which is a film about the life of post impressionist artist Paul Gauguin starring Kiefer Sutherland. It wasn't technically a bad film, it was ok actually, but it was the least accurate portrayal of a real person I think I have ever seen on film. They tried to make him seem like quite a nice guy, when in reality he was a colossal asshole and horrible human being.

I'm a little less than 2 hours into 'Aliens'. I'm at the bit where Hicks jumps through the window so that Hudson can kill the face huggers. Action films don't come any better than this. It's a classic.
