And Stew, "Stewpid White Men" has 10-15 pages which reference sources and the likes. Now, I've never taken the time to research whether those articles were real or not, but since they're quoted from real newspapers and journalists, I doubt he'd risk a lawsuit (Edit: Although I have just read one of the articles listed in your link section: still, that's, what, 10 sources out of a few hundred?). On the other hand, I've never seen the movie(s?), which may well be full of bullshit. I haven't researched the Stewff from the "Stewpid White Men" bibliography, but several researchers (including some I posted) found that many of the sources he cited actually CONTRADICT what he says. He has a habit of taking things out of context, changing them just enough to suit his needs (think "Bret Hart to come back and lead the inVasion!" vs. "Bret Hart to come back and lead the inVasion?"). Also, as seen in his interview with Lou Dobbs, he hides behind the "how can their be inaccuracy in comedy?" argument. As for additional Anti-Moore sources, both the "Times-Herald Record" and the "Washington Post" have published information on him, but I couldn't find a copy of it online anywhere.

Various Stewff: Out of interest, Lep, how come you watch so many unusual movies in ECONOMICS, of all things? I mean, I did film Stewdies for a coupla years, so I watched all sorts of movies in class, but economics seems an unusual subject to be shown The Parent Trap in. He did explain that the reason we watched "The Parent Trap" was to explain how much teamwork can accomplish, but a few classmates and I thought that could apply for other movies that are far much better. Most of the movies tend to deal with morals conflicting with business and we even watched an episode of "Touched By An Angel" today. I could care less either way. I am getting an A so far and he bought us pizza from Chuck E. Cheese.

Yesterday saw Bruce Almighty for the 2nd time, and man is it funny. I couldn't stop laughing. Jim Carrey's best film since Liar Liar.

Since the last time I posted here I have watched many films, so I'll just say the ones that come to mind right now. Arsenic and Old Lace, Bruce Almighty, The Royal Tenenbaums, Riverworld, The Birds, Destination Tokyo, Omega Man, Zoolander and Gone With the Wind.

Show The Hulk this morning and it was a dissapointment. The only good part was from Hulk's escape from Gamma Base to his capture in San Francisco. I didn't care about a single character (except Hulk). David Banner seemed like he changed his mission in life every scene he was in. If they want to make Bruce an introvert with emotional problems they failed and should watch Evangelion where they do it (with Shinji) perfectly. Bottom line: the film is only worth seeing for the 20 minutes of Hulk smash at the end.

I don't think I'd have liked two hours of the Hulk saying "I mustn't run away" over and over again.
I don't think they quite nailed the character of Banner, but oh well, there's always next time.

Nah, there also would be whiny screaming and Banner's refusal to ride his bike. But, seriously Gendo/Shinji is the most fucked up father/son relationship ever. Hell, Gendo practial made Shinji Christ and put the fate of humanity in his hands.

I finished "Ninja Scroll". It was pretty good for the gore content and it captured the settings well, but I thought it was a bit overrated.

That was pretty messed up. I think the Banners beat it though, maybe not in the film, but in the comics. Nah the Ikaris are worst off. Yes here is all the reasons why they are..... -Gendo cloned Shinji's mother to make Rei, who brought about the end of mankind, maybe? -Gendo only cares about Shinji for piloting the Eva, and abandoned(sp?) him as a child -Gendo took control of Shinji's Eva and had it nearly kill his best friend when Shinji wouldn't kill unit 3 because there was a person inside -Gendo put Shinji in the role of the returning Christ on judgment day and put the fate of all mankind in his hands -just look at all the mental problems Shinji has which almost all come from his relationship with Gendo -any major ones I'm missing?

Banner's dad tried to kill his son (Robert Bruce Banner) and his mother tried to stop him. Banner killed her for this while Bruce was there (in the comics it wasn't an accident). He went to jail till Bruce (a scientist devoted to making non lethal weapons to end wars) was in his 20s when he was deemed sane and Bruce was asked to take him into his home. This caused his father figure Thunderbolt Ross to abandon him, which would cause problems later. Banner believed his father was better until he tried to kill him at his mother's grave. Banner killed his father by cracking his head open on his mothers grave. Banner decided to stop trying to make non lethal bombs and make the gamma bomb instead. When the gamma blast hit him his rage at his father (which is what he was thinking about at the time) made him turn into Hulk, starting 40 years of Hulk related hijinks which included the Hulk learning how to see ghosts just so his dead father couldn't sneak up on him, and Hulk being so tormented by his father's ghost that he joins Apocalpse.
But basically his father tried to kill him, and he killed his mother instead while she was trying to protect him, and later he killed his father in self defence.
I watched Ben Hur, Heist, Finding Nemo, and something I forget.

At least Hulk's dad didn't try to control the fate of humanity and use him as merely a tool to this end. Of course Banner had a lot more time in the comics to me messed up. Both are pretty bad for similar and different reasons. Hell, both Shinji and Bruce suffer from great emotional and mental problems that their fathers are the root of. In the end I guess they're even in the worst father/son relationship.

I watched KABUKIMAN last night. I like many of Troma's other movies better (TERROR FIRMER's my favorite), but it was still fairly entertaining. I also saw FULL METAL JACKET the other day; to follow the fundamental concepts of the Tao, I'm trying to balance the crappe I watch with Stewff from competent directors, as Kubrick. I actually bought a bunch of classic films in a yard sale today, so I hope to watch CASABLANCA and ON THE WATERFRONT next week.

On the Waterfront is one of my favourite films. When Brando was good, he was the best.
Right now I'm watching King Richard and The Crusaders, which is really nothing special but you can't really expect much from a Sunday afternoon film.
