I may have brought this up before, but I don't think I have. Has anyone heard it? It's downright orgasmic.

I bought it and it's an amazing album. My favorite tracks are "Sam Hall", "Desperado", and of course "The Man Comes Around".

You must download the video to Hurt. I don't exaggerate when I say it's the greatest music video of all time.

I am a definate Johnny Cash fan, I'll have to see if I can find that video somewhere as it is never going to get any tv play where I live, that's for sure.

Not like it gets much play either. Country Music Television was the only place I ever saw that, and I only have that at school. It wasn't too hard to find the video on Kazaa for me though.

It's on MTV all the time, actually. And VH1.

I am in the process of downloading it on Kazaa right now, but I decided to watch what I have so far. It completely took me off guard, because JOHNNY CASH IS COVERING NINE INCH NAILS! Holy crap, I always thought Cash was pretty cool because of his attitude, but this just takes the cake for me.
Now, I'll be waiting for his cover of "Closer." What's next, he covers Manson?
So, what's the name of the new album?

I hate NIN's version. I probably wouldn't as much if I hadn't heard Cash's version but the whole whispering thing, it's just not music. And then the end of the song is just an ugly loud noise. Cash owns it.

Keep in mind I am actually a NIN fan, so this is still a mark-out for me. Cash gets mucho respect from me for diversifying his music and going beyond country for inspiration.
So anyway, I still want to know what the name of the album is...

It's called "American IV: The Man Comes Around". He also did plenty of covers such as "Desperado" and "Personal Jesus" on the album.

I hate NIN's version. I probably wouldn't as much if I hadn't heard Cash's version but the whole whispering thing, it's just not music. And then the end of the song is just an ugly loud noise. Cash owns it. That's because NIN's version is part of a concept album. Both the music and the lyrics on the whole album tell the story of a man on an intense emotional downfall, hence the album's name "The Downward Spiral." "Hurt" is the last song on the album, and is basically about the character giving up that's probably why it's "whispered" and the "ugly loud noise" which is actually a guitar, at the end signifies possibly suicide... the song also fades out with a static-type sound. NIN is more so beautifully put together electronic noise than rock music, so I can understand how some people don't care for it. You have to admit the lyrics are good though. I don't really like Johny Cash's voice and it pissed me off how he changed a strong lyric in the song. He says "I wear this crown of thorns..." instead of "I wear this crown of shit..."
